The South African Police Service in Limpopo is invites the Mahwelereng and Mokopane youth to a special recruitment programme on 5 July 2017 at 09:00 at the Tayob Hall in Akasia, Mokopane.​

The purpose of the community outreach is to allow all physically fit community members between the ages of 18 and 30 to apply to become possible police recruits. Applicants must have a Grade 12 certificate or higher.

In a media release, the police requested applicants from white-, indian and coloured communities to apply as their numbers [are minimal in recruitment and there are no representatives].

Other criteria states that applicants with visible tattoos will be disqualified and that a drivers' licence is no longer a prerequisite.
